Experience the beauty of the Sonoran Desert right in the heart of Phoenix at Papago Park, offering desert vistas and easy hiking trails around red sandstone buttes, including the iconic Hole-in-the-Rock. Discover 50,000 species of cacti, trees, flowers, and arid plants from deserts of the world at the Desert Botanical Garden, a living museum within the park.
A guided 2-hour adventure hike covering an exceptionally scenic loop route in the McDowell Mountains – showcasing the unique geological features, wildlife, and flora of the Sonoran Desert, as well as views of Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Valley of the Sun. The guide will adjust pace, mileage, terrain, and grade to the group, the route is generally considered easy to medium. The guide will provide lightweight backpacks, water and snacks for each hiker. Guides are EMT and/or Wilderness First Responder Certified.
